Our Grade 3 students were hard at work last week working on their digital storytelling skills. The assignment? Tell a story in the form of a comic strip. While light on words, comic strips are an effective way to teach students about story structure and develop early story writing skills. The comic format forces students to focus on the properly sequencing events and visualizing the action. They can also help with teaching students to use dialogue and action to show character traits as opposed to simply telling the audience.
Below are the final comic strips published using www.storyboardthat.com. Click the pictures to view the full-sized versions. Enjoy!
